Professional recognition was awarded to food industry specialists on the occasion of their professional holiday at SNAU

On October 16, Sumy National Agrarian University hosted a celebration dedicated to the Day of Food Industry Workers, which is traditionally celebrated on the third Sunday of October. The event brought together government officials, business leaders, industry experts and educators who ensure the stability and development of the food sector in Sumy region through their daily work.

The food industry is one of the key components of the region’s agricultural potential. We are proud of our colleagues who demonstrate a high level of professionalism, develop production technologies and create high-quality Ukrainian products. It is important for us that young people studying at SNAU adopt this experience and continue to strengthen the food industry of our country,” said Ihor Kovalenko, Rector of Sumy National Agrarian University.

Among the recipients of the rector’s diplomas are representatives of the Faculty of Food Technologies of the SNAU, PhD, Associate Professor, Maryna Savchenko, and PhD, Associate Professor, Seghiy Bokovets, whose contributions to the development of the faculty and the food industry and conscientious work for the benefit of education and the region have been recognized at a worthy level.

The rector also thanked the reliable partners of the institution for fruitful cooperation – Yaroslav Nahornyi, sole proprietor, director of the Pan Pekar bakery and confectionery, and Roman Kuliomza, sole proprietor, owner of the Dari Morya chain of stores Roman Kuliomza.

The food industry of Sumy region today demonstrates resilience and dynamism of development even in difficult wartime conditions. The companies implement modern technologies, ensure food security in the region, create jobs and cooperate with educational institutions. For SNAU students majoring in food science, this is an opportunity to study in close cooperation with production, which allows them to quickly master professional skills and adapt to the real needs of the market.
