SNAU congratulates farmers on their professional holiday

Published: June 20, 2025

This year, June 19 marks the day of those who provide the food industry with raw materials, the market with jobs, and the economy with profits. Sumy National Agrarian University sincerely congratulates all farmers of Ukraine on their professional holiday! You are our students, graduates, partners, friends, and support in these difficult times.

Farming in Ukraine has always been the basis from which the economy developed. An agrarian country needs professionals who will provide enterprises with high-quality means of production for further distribution or processing into ready-made dishes. Now you are doing this in extremely difficult conditions, experiencing losses and failures, and still showing us your resilience and dedication to work.

On the occasion of Farmer’s Day, welcoming events were held, during which the importance of farming as a profession, as well as possible options for helping farms develop, were discussed.

Rector of Sumy National Agrarian University Ihor Kovalenko addressed the invited representatives of the farming sector with a welcoming speech:
“For me, a farmer is a hero. Thank you for joining the practical training of our students, because most of you were also our graduates. A low bow and success. Your work is undoubtedly important for all citizens.”

With the thanks of the rector of Sumy National Agrarian University for many years of fruitful cooperation, high professionalism and significant contribution to the development of scientific work of Sumy National Agrarian University, partners and friends of the university were noted, namely: Head of the Development and Innovation Department of Bayer in Sumy Ivanna Bondarchuk, the staff of the VAT Breeding Plant “Mykhailivka”, the peasant farm “Prometey”, the head of the Koniev farm Ruslan Koniev.

Being a farmer in the conditions of digitalization and war is very difficult, but by your example you demonstrate that any difficulties can be overcome. Happy Farmer’s Day!
