On June 9, Lviv Polytechnic National University hosted the international conference “Internationalization as a key to sustainability and recovery: the first year of the Twinning program.” Among the participants of the conference are representatives of the Foundation of the President of Ukraine for Education, Science and Sports, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Cormack Consultancy Group and leading institutions of higher education in Ukraine and Great Britain. The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for scientific and international activities, Professor Yu. Danko.
The Twinning program is a model of cooperation between higher education institutions initiated by the British side, which is coordinated by the Cormack Consultancy Group and the Fund of the President of Ukraine for Education, Science and Sports with the support of Universities UK International. The initiative allows universities from all over the world to support their Ukrainian colleagues. SNAU’s partner in the project is the Royal Agrarian University of Great Britain (RAU).
In 2022, the Ukrainian-British cooperation of Sumy NAU developed quite powerfully. In particular, currently two lecturers of the Department of Management named after L. Mykhailova, L. Batsenko and I. Skliar, are conducting research at this university as invited scientists under the Researchers at Risk Fellowship program. The Royal University and SNAU in cooperation with Chinese instructors were invited to teach individual courses to Chinese students.
Cooperation between the two universities under grant programs is active. In particular, during 2022, a joint team of researchers managed to obtain two grant projects for the study and restoration of soils and ecosystems affected by enemy. The total amount of received grants is about 350 thousand pounds.
One of the most powerful cooperation results is receiving a grant for the introduction of the joint master’s program of double degrees “Sustainable agricultural and food security”.
Based on these results, the SNAU and RAU case was chosen as one of the six best in Ukraine and presented at the conference with the participation of representatives of the Cormack Consultancy Group.
