Published: November 18, 2025

From November 9 to 15, 2025, a delegation from Sumy National Agrarian University is on an official working visit to the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf, Germany. The visit is taking place as part of a joint German-language master’s program in agricultural management, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), as well as within the framework of the international DUAG project, aimed at developing partnership educational programs and integrating best European practices into the educational process.

The first days of the delegation’s stay were devoted to getting acquainted with the university, its history, educational directions, and modern material and technical base. On behalf of the host party, Professor Ralf Schlaueder welcomed the guests and emphasized the strategic importance of international cooperation in the field of agricultural education and the need for further development of double degree programs.

During the visit, representatives of the SNAU visited the government of Middle Franconia and the Department of Agriculture, where they learned about the features of Germany’s dual education system, which combines theoretical training in higher education institutions with practical training in production. The next location was the Upper Bavarian Rural Development Administration (Munich), where the delegation learned about modern approaches to rural development, support for farms, and preservation of the rural environment.

University representatives also took part in lectures and seminars on the internationalization of higher education, the development of dual training, and the deepening of cooperation between universities in Europe and Ukraine.

Our partnership with the University of Weihenstephan-Triesdorf is an example of strategic cooperation that combines science, education, and innovation. Such initiatives open up new opportunities for students and teachers, creating a space for mutual understanding and trust, which is the key to a successful future for agricultural education,” – said representatives of the SNAU delegation.

The working trip continues, and ahead are new meetings, training events, and exchanges of experience that will further strengthen the partnership between Sumy National Agrarian University and Weihenstephan-Trisdorf University, the development of joint educational projects, academic mobility, and the training of a new generation of specialists capable of working according to European standards.
