On Friday, October 17, 2025, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Sumy National Agrarian University (SNAU) and the Federation of Employers’ Organizations of Sumy Region (FEOSR).
During the signing ceremony, SNAU Rector Ihor Kovalenko emphasized that the university aims to be a “living platform” for the practical training of future specialists, ensuring their education is closely aligned with the real needs of the labor market. In turn, Mykhailo Horpenko, Head of FEOSR, noted that it is crucial for employers to have access to young professionals and to work together with the university in shaping the region’s human resource potential.
Both parties noted that the signed memorandum is designed to establish a platform for long-term cooperation in several key areas:
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the initiative to establish a joint coordination council composed of representatives from SNAU and FEOSR. Its main tasks will include monitoring the effectiveness of cooperation, aligning educational programs with labour market needs, and identifying new areas for collaboration.
Special attention was given to the idea of holding an annual forum “Agrarian Education — Agrarian Industry,” which is intended to become a communication platform for sharing experiences, presenting innovations, and strengthening partnerships between education, science and business.
The signing of the memorandum marks an important step in strengthening cooperation among education, science, and industry in the Sumy region. Such collaboration will contribute to improving the quality of professional training and fostering the overall development of the regional economy.
