Published: December 10, 2025

On December 9, 2025, an international English-language online meeting of rectors was held, attended by leaders and representatives of leading universities from around the world. The event became an open platform for discussing strategic directions for the development of higher education, formats for scientific cooperation, and global challenges facing academic communities. Sumy National Agrarian University was also invited to participate in the conference.

The meeting was organized by the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf (HSWT), a long-standing and reliable international partner of SNAU, with which the university implements numerous educational and scientific initiatives. Many years of cooperation with HSWT are an important part of the process of internationalization of SNAU and the development of joint scientific areas.

The conference was attended by representatives of universities from Germany, Brazil, Cuba, Cambodia, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Portugal, and other countries. Ukraine was represented at this international event by several higher education institutions, including Sumy National Agrarian University.

SNAU was represented at the event by University Rector Ihor Kovalenko and Assistant Rector and Coordinator of the SNAU-HSWT Partnership Larysa Kalachevska, who spoke in the discussion on international formats of cooperation and joint scientific initiatives between universities.

In his address, SNAU Rector Ihor Kovalenko presented key statistical indicators of the university’s development, emphasizing its unique mission as an institution operating in wartime conditions alongside the frontline region while ensuring the stability of the educational process, “holding the rear” through accessible and quality education.

The rector separately noted the role of modern digital solutions, in particular the E-SNAU electronic platform, which is constantly developing, expanding the tools for distance and blended learning, and strengthening the sustainability of the educational environment. Igor Kovalenko also emphasized the opportunities for international academic mobility and the development of domestic and foreign partnerships, and confirmed SNAU’s readiness to deepen scientific cooperation with universities around
the world.

SNAU is always open to new partnerships and joint projects that will contribute to the development of modern agricultural education,” emphasized Ihor Kovalenko.

The online meeting of rectors became an effective international platform for establishing new contacts, exchanging experience, and forming promising partnerships. SNAU will continue to expand the geography of cooperation and actively participate in global events that contribute to the development of Ukrainian science and education at the world level.
