The Ukrainian national office of intellectual property and innovation together with the network of Technology and Innovation Support Centres (TISCs), organized a marathon dedicated to the International Intellectual Property Day. The event was held offline on April 27-28 in Kyiv. Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities of Sumy National Agrarian University Yurii Danko took part in the marathon, which was called “IP&I: How to Commercialize Intellectual Property”.
The network of Technology and Innovation Support Centres(TISCs) is an international project of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Now it operates in more than 80 countries around the world. The project has been implemented in Ukraine since 2018. The purpose of the Centres is to support patents, scientific ideas, help in obtaining relevant security documents and advise on ways to commercialize intellectual property.
The Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation is the Ukrainian branch of the international project of the World Intellectual Property Organization. The IP Office has become a conceptually new approach to intellectual property services, an ecosystem for protecting innovations for the creative cluster, which in turn will become an investment magnet.
The organisation of the marathon was provided by iHUB, whose team for almost 10 years independently and jointly with the governments of different countries implemented a number of programs to support and develop Ukrainian startups, providing them with the best technical and expert support. In addition, iHUBis the UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre for technical and professional education and training.
The marathon consisted of 16 hours of speeches, panel discussionsand collective discussions. 26 speakers and 6 facilitators shared their knowledge working in groups, including representatives of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the innovative ecosystem and the Ukrainian Startup Fund, leading universities and scientific institutions. The event brought together more than 100 participants from all over Ukraine.
Yurii Danko presented successful cases on transfer of technologies at SNAU as part of the IP&I: “How to Commercialize Intellectual Property” marathon.
