SNAU professor receives grant from the President of Ukraine for research on territorial marketing

On November 27, the results of the competition for grants from the President of Ukraine to doctors of science for conducting scientific research and development for 2026 were announced. Among the winners is a representative of Sumy National Agrarian University, which emphasizes the high assessment of scientific achievements and expertise of the university community.

Presidential grants are prestigious state funding provided for the implementation of important scientific projects aimed at developing innovations, supporting fundamental or applied research, and solving strategic problems for regions and the country. Receiving such a grant is a significant achievement and important recognition of the scientific potential of the university.

For 2026, the grant was awarded to Viktoriia Makarova, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Marketing and Logistics of the SNAU, to carry out the study “Territorial Marketing as a Tool for Increasing the Competitiveness of the Region and Its Export Potential”.

The Department of Marketing and Logistics of SNAU has been a center of modern research and practice-oriented solutions in the field of marketing and regional development for many years. The implementation of this grant project will be another step in strengthening the scientific positions of the department and expanding its applied impact.

We asked the professor why she chose this particular topic – and here is her comment:
Modern regions are faced with growing competition for investments, human resources and sales markets. Territorial marketing makes it possible to comprehensively form a positive image of the territory, effectively present its strengths and attract external partners. The long-term goal of the project is to create a sustainable model of regional development, capable of increasing its visibility, attracting investments, expanding export opportunities and strengthening competitiveness at the national and international levels.

SNAU has been a leading university in marketing research for several years. This grant will be another stage in the development of a scientific field that combines academic theory, practical challenges, and social responsibility. We wish Viktoriia Makarova and the entire team every success! May the research results benefit our university, region, and country.
