SNAU Received Modern Trimble Navigation Equipment for Precision Farming Education

On March 12, a meeting with representatives of agribusiness took place at Sumy National Agrarian University, during which the university received a set of Trimble navigation equipment to be used in the educational process and scientific research. The equipment was obtained through grant funding within a project and with the direct participation of Titan Machinery Ukraine.

The provided set of navigation equipment will be used in the training of students majoring in agroengineering and agronomy. In particular, it will be integrated into courses and practical classes related to Precision Farming and Digital Farming technologies. This will enable students to work with modern satellite navigation systems and agricultural machinery autopilot systems widely used in contemporary agricultural production.

The meeting was attended by:

  • Yurii Danko — Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work at SNAU;
  • Nataliia Terekh — Head of the Marketing Department at Titan Machinery Ukraine;
  • Maksym Chykunov — Marketing Manager of BEDNAR in Ukraine;
  • Oleksandr Noskov — Regional Manager for the Implementation of Precision Farming Technologies;
  • representatives of the ReGrow Project: Larysa Kalachevska — Project Manager, Vladyslav Zubko — Project Leader, as well as team members Kyrylo Syrovytskyi, Serhii Sokolyk, and Viktor Onychko.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation between the university and the agribusiness sector. Such collaboration will facilitate the integration of modern technologies into the educational process and contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists for Ukraine’s agricultural sector.

An important component of the development of this field is the participation of the university team in the international Erasmus+ project ReGrow Project, which involves partners from Ukraine, Georgia, Greece, and Germany. The implementation of the project promotes the exchange of experience with European universities, the improvement of educational programs, and the development of the material and technical base foreducation and research in modern agricultural production.

Sumy National Agrarian University is one of the leading higher education institutions in Ukraine in training specialists in the fields of Precision Farming and Digital Farming. The university’s active cooperation with agribusiness representatives makes it possible to integrate modern technologies and equipment into the educational process and to develop applied scientific research aimed at improving the efficiency of agricultural production.
