Sumy National Agrarian University has long been confidently asserting itself both at the national and international levels, demonstrating leadership in the implementation of modern educational practices and innovative models of specialist training. Another confirmation of this position was the participation of a student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of SNAU, Denis Trypolsky, a member of the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Students’ Association, in the all-Ukrainian discussion of the development of higher education, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Denis presented the position of the student community of our university in a dialogue with state institutions and participated in the development of decisions on the implementation of high-quality dual education in Ukraine.
The meeting took place on the occasion of International Student’s Day and brought together the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Science, representatives of leading student organizations and youth institutions. The discussion was aimed at determining the priorities of educational reforms, instruments for improving the quality of higher education, and the development of mechanisms for student participation in university management.
A special focus of the conversation was dual education, which is becoming a key platform for training a new generation of specialists. The participants discussed the launch of large-scale student surveys, improving the scholarship system, the results of the pilot project of supervisory boards in higher education institutions, the prospects for the 2026 admission campaign, updating academic mobility mechanisms, and creating innovative interuniversity clusters.
SNAU is one of the national leaders in the development of dual education. The university is consistently scaling this direction, creating dual program roadmaps and expanding partnerships with employers throughout Ukraine. The dual education model implemented by SNAU provides a combination of academic training with real-world work experience, official employment, mentoring support from industry specialists, and the opportunity for students to build a professional path during their studies. This allows young specialists to confidently enter the competitive labor market, and enterprises to receive specialists ready to work effectively from the first days.
“The meeting left the impression of a constructive and open dialogue, where key issues of student policy were not just discussed, but received real contours of future decisions. It is important that the Ministry demonstrates its willingness to hear students directly and involve them in shaping changes in the field of higher education,” said Denys Trypolsky.
The participants of the meeting supported the need for regular cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science and the student community, because young people should be full partners in the process of reforming the education system. SNAU will continue to consistently develop dual programs, support active students, and provide real opportunities for young people to influence the future of Ukrainian education.
