Sumy NAU suffered as a result of a russian UAV attack 14.07.2025

Published: July 22, 2025

On July 14, 2025, the university’s academic buildings were damaged by russian UAVs. The consequences
include broken glass, destroyed walls, damaged educational equipment, mutilated classrooms, a distorted facade, and a punctured roof. But the most painful thing is the injuries of the staff and a student of the Faculty of Economics and Management.

Monday was a severe shock for the entire SNAU family. Instead of the usual work schedule and relative calm, there were sounds of explosions, sirens, and worried calls to family asking “Are you okay?” Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Ihor KOVALENKO, Rector of Sumy National University, commented on the situation in the institution to the local media:
Despite all the challenges, NAU continues to work. Our walls are not just bricks and concrete. They are people.”
