On May 21-23, 2025, Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities of Sumy National Agrarian University, Professor Yurii DANKO, joined the annual conference of the European Association for Technology Transfer (ASTP), which this year was held in Vilnius (Lithuania) – the European Green Capital 2025.
The conference, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of ASTP’s activities under the slogan “25 years of growth of the profession: the journey continues”, brought together more than 350 knowledge and technology transfer specialists from all over Europe and other countries. The program of the event included 8 interactive workshops, 2 plenary sessions, 12 parallel panels, as well as a space for the exchange of practices (Knowledge Stock Exchange).
Particular attention was paid to European projects that demonstrated modern approaches to intellectual property management, development of entrepreneurial skills, balancing open science and technology protection. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the IMPAC3T-IP and Impact Licensing Initiative tools aimed at increasing the impact of scientific results on society.
The participation of SNAU in such international events demonstrates not only the university’s scientific activity, but also its strategic focus on the third mission – knowledge and technology transfer. “Today, it is important to talk not only about research, but also about how the results of this research are transformed into practical solutions that change the economy, the agricultural sector, and society. That is why we are actively integrating into the European technology transfer ecosystem,” Yurii Danko emphasized.
Among the topics discussed were: spin-off creation, use of artificial intelligence in marketing and biomedicine, patient data management, sustainable development, digital innovations and legal aspects of commercialization of scientific developments.
The presence of SNAU at ASTP Vilnius 2025 was another important step towards strengthening the university’s international position, developing partnerships and engaging in EU programs in the field of innovation and technology transfer.
