On February 12, a working online meeting was held at Sumy National Agrarian University with representatives of the North-Eastern Interregional Department of the State Labor Service of Ukraine. The topic of discussion was the introduction and implementation of psychosocial support programs for employees in the workplace.

Representatives of the State Labor Service familiarized the participants of the meeting with the current legislative framework and the features of its application in the field of psychosocial support for employees. In particular, the provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On the System of Mental Health Protection in Ukraine” were considered in detail, which provide for the development and approval by employers of psychosocial support programs in the workplace.
During the meeting, the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization of Teachers and Employees of
SNAU, Nataliia Kolodnenko, noted the systematic approach of the university as an employer and the
Trade Union to supporting the mental and physical health of employees.
Olha Kovaliova, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship named after Professor I. M. Briukhovetskyi, and Nataliia Volchenko, Head of the International Relations Department, shared their positive impressions of specific measures implemented by SNAU to support the mental health of employees.
Following the meeting, a decision was made to prepare and legally approve an official document at SNAU that will regulate the university’s policy in the field of psychosocial support for employees during the war and post-war periods.
Representatives of the North-Eastern Interregional Department of the State Labor Service of Ukraine noted the high level of organization of the university’s work in the field of supporting the mental and physical health of personnel, and also noted that the approach of SNAU can serve as an example for other institutions.
