The team from Sumy National Agrarian University joined the Professional Development Programme for Academic Managers, implemented by the British Council as part of a joint project between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the World Bank, ‘Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results’ (UIHERP).
The programme aims to improve management efficiency in higher education institutions, develop leadership skills and introduce modern management practices in the field of education.
Within the first module, devoted to the topic ‘The role of the university in the context of social transformations,’ participants explored issues of strategic development of higher education, change management, and adaptation of universities to contemporary challenges. The programme combines practical classes, training sessions and interactive sessions that enable academic administrators to develop effective management and analytical thinking skills.
The Sumy National Agrarian University team consisted of:
‘During the training, we gained not only new knowledge but also effective tools for improving the quality of the educational process. This experience helps to form a clear strategy for the development of faculties, improve the management system and focus on results,’ said Natalia Bolhova, Dean of the Faculty of Food Technology and head of the SNAU team.
The participation of representatives of Sumy National Agrarian University in the Programme was an important step in strengthening the university’s management capacity. The knowledge gained will contribute to the development of academic culture, the improvement of internal processes and the enhancement of educational services the quality. For SNAU, this is not only an opportunity to exchange experience, but also confirmation of its active position in the modernisation of Ukrainian higher education.
