The SNAU Team Successfully Defended Institutional Project within Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and British Council Program

On September 19, 2025, the team from Sumy National Agrarian University successfully presented and defended an institutional project developed within the framework of the “Professional Development Program for Academic Managers of Higher Education Institutions” (Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, British Council, World Bank UIHERP project). The project integrates the four modules of the Program (the role of the university, strategic planning, HR, and finance–resources–projects) and provides a clear roadmap for implementation.

The event opened with welcoming speeches by Serhii Artemenko, head of the UIHERP Project Group, and Colm McGivern, Director of the British Council in Ukraine. This was followed by expert presentations, including one by Mykola Trofymenko, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, on the topic “State Policy Priorities in Higher Education”. The results of the first cycle of the Program were presented by Svitlana Kalashnikova, Advisor to the Directorate of the Institute of Higher Education of the NAES of Ukraine and Leader of the Program’s Expert Team. Alison Jones, Global Ambassador of Advance HE, shared an international perspective on leadership, while Lesley Haig, Rector of the University of Health Sciences, spoke about university mergers in the UK.

Sumy National Agrarian University was represented by experienced managers responsible for key areas of the institution’s activities: Marharyta Lyshenko – Vice-Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical and Academic Affairs, Head of the Project Group; Svitlana Lukash – Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management; Oleksandr Solarov – Dean of the Faculty of Construction and Transport; Olha Bakumenko – Dean of the Faculty of Agrotechnology and Environmental Management; Nataliia Kolodnenko – Head of the Academic Department; Olena Rybina – Head of the Department for Education Quality, Licensing and Accreditation; Nataliia Volchenko – Head of the Department of International Relations.

In total, 70 teams from 60 higher education institutions presented their institutional projects.
