THE SQUARE NAMED AFTER THE FIRST RECTOR OF SNAU I.M. BRIUKHOVETSKYI WAS PLANTED IN SNAU

On 21.10.2022, students and teachers of the university took part in the creation of the square named after the first rector of Sumy National Agrarian University I.M. Briukhovetskyi.

28 trees and shrubs of different sorts were planted.

  1. M. Briukhovetskyi was a man who built SNAU with his own hands. In an empty place, outside the city, he founded an educational institution in 1977.

Sumy region has always been identified with agriculture. However, there were not enough specialists for the development of the agricultural sector, that’s why a branch of the Kharkiv Аgricultural Institute named after V. Dokuchaiev was founded in Sumy. I. M. Briukhovetskyi became its rector.

The first rector had a stuff of highly-qualified specialists who worked for the benefit of the University. Specialists came from different regions of Ukraine and the countries of the former Soviet Union. To attract the best, he created good living and working conditions.

We will always be grateful to I. M. Briukhovetskyi for his titanic work, for the foundation of one of the leading agricultural universities in Ukraine.
