Ukrainian Cultural and Artistic Band MUR Visited SNAU Students

Published: September 24, 2025

On September 19, 2025, students of Sumy National Agrarian University had a unique opportunity to meet Ukrainian musicians and cultural figures — members of the band MUR. The event took place in a warm, informal atmosphere and brought together active students interested in creativity, culture, and personal development.

MUR is a Ukrainian musical collective known for its cultural initiatives, combining music, literature, and socially important themes. The band not only creates music but also promotes Ukrainian literature, art, and social values, inspiring young people to reflect and engage in their own creative pursuits.

The meeting featured Oleksandr Khomenko, Mykola Shmundyr, and Ivanna Havliuk, who shared their creative experiences and vision for the development of cultural life in Ukraine. During the discussion, a number of important topics were raised: life and creativity, fears and ambitions, personal growth and change, the challenges of the university’s border location, and the significance of Ukrainian literature. Responding to a question from the audience about the power of Ukrainian literature, Oleksandr Khomenko noted: “The strength of Ukrainian literature lies in the fact that the price of a line is too high.”

For the students, this meeting was a breath of fresh air and inspiration — a moment of joy and gratitude, and an opportunity to rethink their own values and gain new insights. We extend our sincere thanks to the band MUR for their visit and to the SNAU Student Council for organizing the event.
