On the occasion of International Youth Day, a panel discussion was held at Sumy National Agrarian University with the participation of representatives of the youth policy department and vice-rectors of the university, as well as an award ceremony for the most active representatives of the student community and young scientists for their significant contribution to the development of the youth environment in Sumy region and Ukraine as a whole.
The panel discussion became a platform for open dialogue between ambitious young students and experts in the field of education and youth policy. The discussion was joined by Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Activities Yuriy Danko, Vice-Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical, and Educational Work Marharyta Lyshenko, and Chief Specialist of the Youth Policy Department Pavlo Redko.
During the discussion, key issues were discussed: the role of youth in university life, the influence of educational institutions on the formation of the younger generation, the prospects for the development of youth initiatives in the region, as well as the challenges and opportunities of today. Candid questions and meaningful answers created an atmosphere of active engagement in which everyone had the opportunity to express their own position.
For significant achievements in educational and public activities, and a significant contribution to the development and creation of a positive image of the university’s student community, the rector of SNAU, Ihor Kovalenko, expressed his gratitude to: Albina Skrynnyk, Maksym Khovzun, Volodymyr Romanenko, Anna Losiatynska, Veronika Shevchenko, Artem Zhuk, Dmytro Baburov, Yaroslava Bondarenko, Yehor Koropets, Viktoria Imenovskaya, Ksenia Omelchuk, Artem Boiko, Olha Yeremenko, Kateryna Biziukova, Karina Zaika, Ihor Lytiuha, Danylo Toderiuk, Andriy Lohvinenko, and Bohdan Hubka.
The Youth Policy Department of the Sumy City Council awarded certificates of appreciation in various categories to: Aliona Popova, Maria Petukhova, Anna Siniahovskaya, Matviy Muzykin, Mikhailo Osoblyvets, Yehor Buyalo, and Natalia Yaroshenko.
In addition, students received acknowledgments from People’s Deputy Mykhailo Ananchenko. The following were honored: Ilona Saiko, Andriy Kolodnenko, and Kseniia Atorina.
On August 8, as part of Youth Day celebrations, the winners of the city competition “Youth Elite” organized by the Youth Policy Department of the Sumy City Council were awarded. Two representatives of SNAU won in different categories: Diana Derevyanchenko, a student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, former rector of the student self-government and acting head of the Sumy branch of the UAS, won in the category “Leader of Student Self-Government,” and Denis Trypolskyi, a student of the Faculty of Economics and Management, former head of the Sumy branch of the UAS, in the category “Best Public Figure in the Field of Youth Policy.”
The winners of the competition also included Yehor Buyalo, a student at the Faculty of Food Technology and volunteer, in the category “Volunteer Activity,” and Natalia Yaroshenko, PhD, assistant at the Department of Ecology and Botany at SNAU, in the category “Scientific Activity.”
