The Contemporary Dance Ensemble “Charm” of Sumy National Agrarian University was founded in 2002. According to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated April 30, 2018, the ensemble was awarded the honorary title of “Exemplary Artistic Collective.”
The main goal of the ensemble is to discover and engage students in the art of choreography. The group consists of students and postgraduate students of Sumy National Agrarian University. The ensemble operates according to an original five-year educational and training program. The classes are based on classical and contemporary dance techniques. The repertoire includes stylized folk dances, jazz-modern, contemporary, hip-hop, vogue, and classical dance forms. The program is tailored to modern trends and the interests and wishes of the participants.
“Charm” is a participant and winner of many city, regional, national, and international festivals.
Its active concert activities, interesting educational and creative processes, and successful participation in choreography contests and festivals have helped to create an atmosphere of unity, inspiration, and a family-like environment among the members and their leader. Over the years of training, participants become one big friendly family. Every year, the ensemble invites dance enthusiasts to its annual showcase concerts.
Thanks to the creative potential of the participants and the choreographer-director, the “Charm” ensemble successfully represents the Sumy region both in Ukraine and abroad. The main thing that unites the members is their love for the art of dance, which they share with their audiences!
