The Romny Professional College of Sumy National Agrarian University (SNAU) is celebrating its 105th anniversary! For over a century, the institution has been shaping generations of specialists, advancing agricultural education, and remaining a vital part of the educational history of the Sumy region.
The college’s history began on June 10, 1921, with the decision to open an agricultural vocational school in Romny. Over the past century, the institution has evolved from a vocational school and technical college into a modern professional college; while its names, fields of study, and educational approaches have changed, it has remained steadfast in its core mission—dedication to its work and a commitment to providing young people with a quality education.
Today, the Romny Professional College is a key component of SNAU’s extensive educational and professional network. It trains qualified specialists, future researchers, and socially conscious citizens who combine solid theoretical knowledge with practical skills and a readiness to meet modern-day challenges.
Behind every year of this history lies the hard work of faculty members, dedication to their calling, the achievements of graduates and students, and traditions passed down from generation to generation. It is the people who constitute the college’s greatest asset and drive its continued development.
A highlight of the celebration was the recognition of the individuals who shape the college’s history every day. The staff of the Romny Professional College received a letter of appreciation from the SNAU Rector for their years of dedicated service and significant contributions to training specialists and developing the university community. Individual staff members of the college were also recognized with letters of appreciation from the Rector for their professionalism, dedicated work, and personal contributions to the institution’s development.
We extend our sincere congratulations to the staff, students, alumni, and everyone who shapes the history of the Romny Professional College on its 105th anniversary! We wish you continued success in education and research, talented young people, boundless energy, inspiration, and steady progress.
We are proud that the Romny Professional College is part of the great SNAU family. Happy anniversary!
