A meeting of students with representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross took place at SNAU

On April 17, a meeting of proactive student youth with representatives of the Sumy City-District Organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine took place at the Sumy National Agrarian University.

The event was attended by the head of the organization, Serhii Maliuk, and the team of the representative office. The main purpose of the meeting was to inform students about the activities of the Red Cross, as well as to involve young people in volunteer activities.

It is important that a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Sumy National Agrarian University and the Sumy City-District Organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, which opens up new opportunities for the implementation of joint educational and humanitarian initiatives.

During the meeting, the participants:

• learned about the history of the creation of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society;
• learned about the main areas of activity of the organization;
• heard about current humanitarian initiatives and projects;
• received information about opportunities to join volunteering and gain practical experience.

The meeting was timed to coincide with the Day of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, which is celebrated on April 18. In 2026, the organization celebrates 108 years of its activity.

The event contributed to raising students’ awareness of humanitarian activities, forming a culture of mutual assistance, and popularizing volunteerism among young people.

The organizers and participants expressed interest in further developing cooperation and implementing joint initiatives.
