From 17 March to 17 April, Sumy National Agrarian University hosted a professional development course entitled ‘Digital Literacy for Higher Education Lecturers’, aimed at developing modern digital skills among academic and teaching staff
The course programme comprised five content blocks (modules), each of which covered key aspects of the digitalization of the educational process.
During the training, participants explored a wide range of topics: the use of educational platforms and the digital learning environment, the creation of educational content and visualisations, the integration of artificial intelligence tools into the educational process, working with academic sources and issues of academic integrity, as well as the use of cloud services in teaching practice.
The teaching was delivered by leading university lecturers, who covered the relevant subject areas. An external speaker—Dmytro LOPATA, Head of the Digital Product Development Department—was also invited to contribute to the programme, which helped to enhance the practical aspect of the course and introduce participants to modern approaches to developing digital solutions in education.
Following the training, participants were able to develop their own educational case studies and refine their practical skills in using digital tools in their professional work. Active work is currently underway to improve the training courses on the Moodle e-learning platform.
The implementation of such educational initiatives helps to improve the quality of the educational process, foster a digital culture among teaching staff, and introduce innovative approaches to the training of higher education students.
