On April 16, a delegation from Sumy National Agrarian University paid a working visit to the Bochechkiv community of Konotop district.
The delegation included the rector of SNAU Ihor Kovalenko, advisor to the rector Volodymyr Ladyka, representatives of the Faculty of Biology and Technology, Dean of the Faculty of Agrotechnology and Environmental Management Serhii Horbas, and faculty staff. The visit was supported by the head of the community Viktor Boroshnev and the head of the Department of Education, Culture and Tourism, Youth and Sports Svitlana Stepanenko.
In the village of Kozatske, together with the director of LLC AF “Kozatska” Viktor Gala, the director of the Kozatsk secondary education institution Valentina Klindukhova, and students, a lavender plot was planted, which in the future will become an ornament of the village and contribute to the development of the local space.
A meeting was also held with the director of the Bochechkiv secondary education institution Tetiana Korosko, the teaching staff, and graduating students. Representatives of the State Enterprise “Konotop Forestry Enterprise”, who are responsible for the activities of the forest school created on the basis of the educational institution, also joined the conversation.
During the meeting, the rector of SNAU Ihor Kovalenko invited schoolchildren to join the university’s summer school in order to get to know the educational opportunities, modern material base and prospects of studying at SNAU.
Another important event was the joint planting of trees together with schoolchildren – thus the future fruit garden was launched on the school’s territory.
Such initiatives are a vivid example of effective interaction between the university, community, educational institutions and business for the development of territories, support of youth and the formation of a caring attitude towards nature, work and native land.
