On July 15, we celebrate Ukrainian Statehood Day—a holiday that commemorates the more than 1,000-year history of Ukrainian statehood, our cultural heritage, and our unwavering pursuit of freedom and independence.
For Sumy National Agrarian University, this holiday holds special significance. As a university located in a border region, we demonstrate every day that even the most difficult challenges can become opportunities for development, education, science, and international cooperation.
It is in university classrooms, laboratories, and research centers that the future of the Ukrainian state is shaped—through the knowledge, innovation, and sense of responsibility of the younger generation toward their country.
We are proud to be part of the Ukrainian educational community, which, despite all challenges, continues to teach, research, create, and work for the restoration and development of Ukraine.

Today once again reminds us of the price of Ukrainian statehood. Once again, civilian casualties have resulted from enemy attacks, with people killed and wounded. That is precisely why this holiday takes on even greater significance—because Ukrainian statehood is not only a historical legacy for us, but also something that Ukrainians defend, uphold, and fight for every day. We remember everyone who gave their life for Ukraine, and we thank all those who are defending its future today.
A strong Ukraine begins with the people who work every day for its future. Together, we are building a nation that future generations will be proud of.
