On August 26, during an extraordinary meeting of the board of the Department of Education and Science of the Sumy Regional State Administration, an awards ceremony was held for the recipients of the Sumy Regional Award in Education.
Among this year’s laureates is Marharyta Lyshenko, Vice Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical, and Academic Affairs at Sumy National Agrarian University, Doctor of Economics, and Professor.
For Sumy National Agrarian University, this award recognizes its significant contribution to the development of higher education and science in the Sumy region, the improvement of the educational process, and the training of highly qualified specialists.
Her many years of work at SNAU encompass research, teaching, and administrative activities. Her research focuses on the economics and marketing of the agricultural market, as well as participation in scientific and international projects. She combines her teaching work with the training of students and young researchers, and as vice president, she is directly involved in formulating and implementing decisions regarding the organization of the educational process and ensuring the quality of higher education.
Among the key areas of her work are the development of educational programs, improving the organization of the educational process, academic mobility, dual-degree programs, and creating conditions for the professional development of students.
At the same time, her activities are not limited to the university. She participates in professional discussions on current issues in the development of higher education and represents SNAU’s experience at external events.
During the board meeting, participants also discussed the Sumy region’s readiness for the upcoming 2026–2027 academic year. The focus was on ensuring the safety of those involved in the educational process, maintaining the continuity of learning, and ensuring the functioning of the region’s education sector under current conditions.
This award is a high recognition of many years of work and the combination of scientific, educational, and administrative activities aimed at developing the university and the region’s higher education system.
