On June 8, 2026, a meeting of the Academic Council was held at Sumy National Agrarian University, which traditionally combined the ceremonial and working parts. The event was an opportunity to celebrate the scientific, educational and creative achievements of teachers, employees and students, as well as to make important decisions regarding the further development of the university.
During the ceremonial part, the university community congratulated Ivan Maksymovych Rebenko on his anniversary – a famous scientist, teacher and long-term mentor, whose professional path is an important component of the history and scientific traditions of SNAU.

Special attention during the solemn part was paid to recognizing students who have worthily represented SNAU during the year at all-Ukrainian and international competitions, scientific competitions and creative projects.

Also, certificates confirming proficiency in a foreign language at level B2 in accordance with the Common European Recommendations for Language Education were received by representatives of the university’s scientific community: Yana Dolhikh, Maryna Shkurko, Melaniia Nesmachna, Kateryna Prokopenko, Nataliia Parshykova, Diana Nikitina, Anna Syniahovska, Rymma Bykova and Tetiana Hutsal.
A separate event was the summing up of the results of the student competition for the design of functional footwear for modern agricultural production “TALAN STUDENT DESIGN CHALLENGE”, which was implemented in cooperation with Talanlegprom LLC. The competition became an example of effective interaction between business and the university and provided students with the opportunity to present their own innovative ideas for the agricultural industry. In the working part of the meeting, the members of the Academic Council considered the results of the educational work of SNAU and separate structural units in the 2025/2026 academic year. The work was recognized as satisfactory, and among the priorities for the next academic year were identified strengthening activities related to the formation of national identity, the development of sustainability, the implementation of the principles of barrier-free access, support for students from privileged categories, the activation of the volunteer movement and improving interaction with student self-government.
One of the key decisions was the approval of the curricula for the 2026 intake for all faculties of the university and separate structural units. This will ensure high-quality training of specialists in accordance with the modern requirements of the labor market and the development of the agricultural sector of Ukraine.
The Academic Council also adopted a number of decisions on the organization of educational and scientific processes, in particular, approved the Rules for Admission to Doctoral Studies for 2026, considered the issues of postgraduate studies, the formation of one-time specialized academic councils, international internships of scientific and pedagogical workers and the development of scientific research.
The meeting of the Academic Council once again confirmed the high level of scientific, educational and creative activity of the university community. The celebration of the achievements of teachers, scientists and students confirmed that SNAU continues to confidently develop as a modern educational and scientific center, open to innovations, international cooperation and training of competitive specialists.
