On 20 May 2026, the All-Ukrainian festival-competition of children’s and youth creativity “KVITUCHA VESNA” took place in Sumy, at which the exemplary contemporary ballroom dance ensemble “SWAY” of Sumy National Agrarian University, led by artistic director and choreographer Yurii SERGEIEV, gave a brilliant performance.
The event was organised by the public organisation “Constellation of Youth and Young Talents”, the Culture Department of Sumy City Council and the Sumy Regional Philharmonic Society.
The aim of the festival-competition was to identify and support talented young people, develop the creative potential of the participants, strengthen cultural ties between creative groups in Ukraine, and raise the professional standards of arts group leaders. The competition featured around 90 performances across various genres and age categories from Sumy and the Sumy region.
Following the results of the competition, the ‘SWAY’ ensemble demonstrated a high level of performance skill and won prestigious awards:
The ensemble comprised students from various faculties of SNAU: Viktoria ATAMANENKO, Viktoria IMENOVSKA, Yehor YAKOVENKO and Yehor KOROPETS — Faculty of Law; Viktoria SHMAT — Faculty of Economics and Management; Svitlana SVYNARENKO — Faculty of Agricultural Technologies and Environmental Management.
Yuryi Serheyev remarked: “This award is not just about certificates; it is a sign that, together, we are creating a culture that inspires and unites today’s young people. I am proud of the students of SNAU and believe that there are many more victories and memorable moments ahead.”
