SNAU in the European Technology Transfer Landscape: Participation in the ASTP 2026 Conference

Published: May 30, 2026

Sumy National Agrarian University continues to integrate into the European innovation community. Yuriy Danko, Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs at SNAU, participated as part of a delegation from the Ukrainian Technology Transfer Alliance (UTTA) in the ASTP Annual Conference 2026, held in Bucharest, Romania.

ASTP is a leading European association of knowledge and technology transfer specialists that has been bringing together innovators for over 25 years. This year, the event brought together over 350 participants from 53 countries to discuss innovation policy and practical solutions in the field of science commercialization.

Key achievements and focus of the event:

  • Presentation of Ukraine: The Ukrainian delegation shared with the international community its experience in developing a national innovation ecosystem, including the work of universities, science parks, digital platforms, and technology support centers.
  • Recognition at the European level: The second edition of the Handbook for National Knowledge Transfer Associations was presented at the conference. For the first time, the Ukrainian Technology Transfer Alliance (UTTA) was included in this catalog of European experience. This opens up new opportunities for Ukraine and the SNAU for international partnership and exchange of experience.
  • New Approaches: Particular attention was paid to knowledge valorization—the process of transforming scientific research into tangible social and economic value through intellectual property tools.

The participation of representatives from SNAU in a conference of this scale confirms that the university is keeping pace with European trends, developing international partnerships, and actively implementing modern approaches to the commercialization of scientific research.
