The equestrian sports section at Sumy National Agrarian University (SNAU) has welcomed a new addition: a purebred Ukrainian Riding Horse stallion. The horse was donated to the university by the “Kozatska” agricultural firm.
For the equestrian section, this is more than just a new arrival. The horse will expand opportunities for student training and practice, while also fostering the continued development of equestrian sports at the university.
The transfer of the stallion marks a new stage in the partnership between SNAU and the “Kozatska” agricultural firm. The company has collaborated with the university for many years, playing an active role in training future specialists.
One aspect of this collaboration is the dual education model. Students can combine university studies with practical training at the company, gaining hands-on experience directly related to their future careers. Such interaction is particularly vital for agricultural education, as students acquire a significant portion of their professional skills through practical work.
However, the support provided by the “Kozatska” agricultural firm extends beyond practical student training; the company also contributes to the development of the university’s infrastructure.
Viktor Hryhorovych Hala, the firm’s director, assisted in repairing SNAU buildings damaged by drone strikes and provided sponsorship for the renovation of the university’s educational and research laboratory—a vivarium used for both academic and scientific activities.
Now, this support has expanded to include student sports. The purebred Ukrainian Riding Horse stallion will become part of the SNAU equestrian section, offering students greater opportunities for regular practice and training. For the university, this is yet another example of how collaboration with employers can yield tangible results: helping students gain practical experience, supporting university infrastructure, and fostering student initiatives.
