Sumy National Agrarian University has been ranked among the top 12 most effective higher education institutions in Ukraine based on its performance in research project competitions. In the latest ranking compiled by the Euroosvita Center for International Projects, SNAU took the honorable 12th place among more than 190 Ukrainian universities. For our institution, this is a strong indicator that demonstrates the high quality of our scientific research and the demand for our scholars at the national and international levels.
This assessment is neither theoretical nor subjective—it is based solely on hard facts and open data. Experts evaluated the universities’ actual ability to win grants, attract funding, and develop projects that meet the strict criteria of European and Ukrainian donors.
For its analysis, “Euroosvita” used information from authoritative sources:
In other words, the ranking shows how successfully a university converts its scientific ideas into actual funding, international partnerships, and applied research. SNAU’s high ranking demonstrates that our researchers are capable of creating competitive projects that stand up to the rigorous selection process conducted by European experts.

Yurii Danko, SNAU’s Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs, commented on the evaluation results in a Facebook post:
“The ‘Euroosvita’ Center for International Projects has released a ranking of Ukrainian higher education institutions’ performance in research project competitions in 2025, in which SNAU ranked 12th among all higher education institutions in Ukraine. To be honest, I am personally completely satisfied with these results. Thank you to all my colleagues who contributed—by writing proposals, justifying them, and taking the initiative. There aren’t as many of you as I’d like, but you are incredibly powerful!”
Success in such a ranking is not just a matter of image; it is confirmation that SNAU has a strong scientific community. Even amid constant challenges and our border location, our scientists find opportunities to integrate into the global scientific community. Every grant we win means new, state-of-the-art equipment for university laboratories, funding for research, internships for young scientists, and the development of solutions that are already helping to revitalize the country’s agricultural sector.
We congratulate our academic community on this achievement and will continue to set the bar high!
