On May 13, 2026, the Head of the International Relations Department of Sumy National Agrarian University, Nataliia Volchenko, presented the results of scientific research within the framework of the project “Circular Strategies and Economic Feasibility of Implementing Alternative Protein Technologies in the Food Security System” during the 16th CASEE Conference in Tirana (Albania).
The CASEE Conference brought together representatives of higher education institutions, scientists and experts from different countries of Central and Eastern Europe to discuss modern challenges in the field of agricultural education, life sciences and food security.
The presentation considered the role of alternative protein technologies in ensuring food security, the need to adapt legislation, state policy and regulatory framework to modern challenges, as well as the importance of adhering to European standards in the process of implementing innovative solutions.
Nataliia Volchenko emphasized:
“It is obvious that this issue is no longer about the “future”. Real challenges require new technologies and readiness of legislation for changes.”
A team of SNAU scientists worked on the study:

* Nataliia Volchenko — Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the International Relations Department of SNAU;
* Kseniia Bliumska-Danko — Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor, Founder of the SNAU Media Center;
* Olena Nifatova — Doctor of Economics, Professor, Scientific Ambassador of SNAU in the Kingdom of Spain;
* Maryna Samilyk — Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor;
* Dmytro Bidiuk — Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior Lecturer.
Nataliia Volchenko also noted that during the next, 17th CASEE conference, Sumy National Agrarian University will take part in considering applications from new candidates for joining the CASEE network and will join the voting during the organization’s General Assembly.
SNAU’s participation in international scientific events once again confirms the university’s active integration into the European academic space, the development of international cooperation and the strengthening of the role of Ukrainian science in solving the global challenges of our time.
