Today, the restoration of roads, bridges, and strategic logistics hubs is not merely an engineering task, but a fundamental prerequisite for the resilience and future prosperity of our country. This topic was at the heart of the International Student Scientific Competition “Restoration of Transport Infrastructure of Ukraine: Global Experience,” where representatives of Sumy National Agrarian University demonstrated a high level of professional expertise and a progressive scientific perspective.
This large-scale event served as a platform for professional dialogue among young researchers, leading academics, and industry leaders. The focus was on the most pressing challenges: modernizing the transport network under wartime conditions and developing innovative strategies for post-war recovery.
SNAU was represented at the competition by a strong tandem: Daryna Kanivets, a student of the Faculty of Law, and Snizhana Onyshkevych, a representative of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport. By combining their expertise from various fields, the candidates prepared a joint research project focusing on the implementation of modern technologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of engineering and geodetic surveys of road service facilities. Following the defense, the young researchers were awarded an honorable third-class diploma.
The in-depth scientific research was conducted under the guidance of experienced mentors — Associate Professor Olena Kanivets from the Department of Geodesy and Land Management and senior lecturer Vasyl Kovalchuk. Thanks to their support and professional guidance, the work received high praise from the jury for its relevance and practical value.
The success of our students once again confirms the effectiveness of the interdisciplinary approach at SNAU. Such achievements contribute to the formation of a new generation of professionals — creators of modern infrastructure, whose knowledge and energy are already becoming a driving force for the recovery and sustainable development of Ukraine.
