SNAU students participated in the Parliamentary Dialogue on the draft of Ukraine’s new Civil Code

Published: October 5, 2026

On September 22, a Parliamentary Dialogue was held at the Yuriy Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic National University to discuss the draft of Ukraine’s new Civil Code, which was presented by Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The Sumy region was represented at the event by a delegation from Sumy National Agrarian University, consisting of Andriy Kolodnenko, Viktoria Imenovska, Vadym Moroz, Viktoria Atamanenko, and Yeh

or Koropets—students of the Faculty of Law—as well as Student Rector Andriy Makarenko and Head of the Academic Department Natalia Kolodnenko.

The participation of SNAU representatives in this event provided students with an important opportunity to engage in professional discussions on current issues in the development of Ukraine’s civil legislation, learn about contemporary trends in legal reform, and interact directly with members of the legal community.

Such discussions are particularly valuable for future lawyers, as they allow them to combine the theoretical knowledge gained during their studies with a practical understanding of the processes involved in drafting and improving legislation. Students have the opportunity to develop skills in professional dialogue, critical thinking, the analysis of legal norms, and the reasoned articulation of their own positions.

Involving young people in discussions of legislative initiatives helps foster active citizenship, increases their interest in the lawmaking process, and helps future professionals better understand the role of lawyers in building a state governed by the rule of law.

For SNAU, participation in regional professional events also provides an opportunity to expand partnerships, support student representation, and create additional opportunities for the professional development of students.
