On April 29 and May 5, Sumy National Agrarian University hosted badminton and volleyball competitions among students of the university’s faculties dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, observed annually on May 8.
The purpose of the events was to strengthen the unity of student youth — the hope of Ukraine’s future — and to honor the memory of the high price the Ukrainian people paid for freedom in the past and continue to pay today.
On April 29, the birthday of SNAU, the first stage of the competition — a badminton tournament — took place. The participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, sportsmanship and team spirit.

Active participation in the competition was also taken by Pavlo Kotviakovskyi and Daria Velykorod, students of the Faculty of Law, as well as Anastasiia Heorhiieva and Anna Berdnyk, students of the Faculty of Construction and Transport.
The final stage took place on May 5 in the format of a volleyball tournament involving teams from different faculties of the university. In intense competition, the participants demonstrated unity, endurance, and determination to win.

The participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, coordinated teamwork, and true sportsmanship, while the winners received gifts from the Primary Trade Union Organization of SNAU Students and Postgraduates in the form of supermarket gift certificates.
Such events contribute to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the development of teamwork and the formation of an active civic position among students. At the same time, sports initiatives are an important component of preserving historical memory and national consciousness.
