Published: April 14, 2026

Kseniia Omelchuk, Alona Popova, and Svitlana Shamkalo, students of the Faculty of Food Technologies at SNAU, are the winners of the “Black Sea Science 2026” International Student Scientific Works Competition. This annual event is hosted by the Odesa National Technological University under the auspices of the Black Sea Universities Network and the ISEKI-Food Association.

The competition brought together a vast number of participants from Ukraine and around the world. In 2026, the jury consisted of 162 scientists, 85 of whom represented 26 foreign countries. At the first stage, 455 scientific papers were submitted from leading higher education institutions across Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Following the results of the first stage, which included peer review and expert discussion of the submitted works, the top 25% of research papers were selected for the final round. In April 2026, the finalists presented their work during an online conference, after which the jury determined the winners.

Students of SNAU demonstrated a high level of academic training in the field of “Food Science and Technology,” which ensured their victory and recognition at the international level.

This achievement is a testament to the high quality of education at SNAU, as well as the students’ perseverance, creativity, and ability to conduct scientific research. Participation in a competition of this level contributes to promoting the university and the Faculty of Food Technologies in the international academic community.

We congratulate the winners on their significant scientific achievement and wish them further success in their research activities and the implementation of new ambitious projects.
