The Spring Breeding Show and the presentation of the new office of the Sumy Regional Dog Breeding Center of the Kennel Union of Ukraine were held at the SNAU campus

On April 25, 2026, the “Spring Breeding Show”—a canine event that brought together dog owners, club members, and students—took place at the training grounds of the Faculty of Biology and Technology at Sumy National Agrarian University.

The event was organized by Anastasia Krasnianska, a graduate of the Faculty of Biology and Technology, and Natalia Bozhko, an assistant professor in the Department of Animal Production and Processing Technology and Canine Science, as well as the head of the Sumy Regional Branch of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “KSU.” Thanks to their professionalism, dedication, and passion for their work, the event was a great success, taking place in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

It is particularly pleasing to note that one of the experts in the ring was Liudmyla Valeriyanivna Bula, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Technology for the Production and Processing of Livestock Products and Cynology, whose professional assessment and many years of experience were a key factor in the event’s success.

The event was of a special nature, as it was simultaneously dedicated to the presentation of the new office of the Sumy Regional Dog Breeding Center of the Ukrainian Cynological Union. From now on, the center’s office is located in the building of the Veterinary Faculty of the Sumy National Agrarian University, which creates convenient conditions for processing pedigree documents, receiving consultations, and conducting practical training sessions on the university campus.

Students from the Faculty of Biology and Technology actively participated in the event, contributing to both the organizational aspects and the competition program. It is a pleasure to note the success of third-year BTF student Yelyzaveta Malkova, owner and handler of the German Shepherd Dakota, who became the runner-up in the main Best in Show competition.

Participants in the show had the opportunity to receive a professional evaluation of their dogs, chat with experts and fellow enthusiasts, and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the event. Guests were treated to nice prizes from the event’s sponsor, Royal Canin, as well as coffee and a small reception to celebrate the “housewarming” of the branch’s office.

Sumy National Agrarian University would like to thank the branch director, Natalia Bozhko, and the club’s zootechnician, Anastasia Krasnianska, for their excellent organization of the event. It is particularly gratifying that both are graduates of our university’s “Canine Science” program, which confirms the quality of our training and strengthens the university’s ties with the professional community.

The event was of special significance not only for the cynology community but also for the city. In frontline conditions, where large public gatherings are restricted, the opportunity to organize a safe event in compliance with all requirements is extremely valuable. Shelters were set up on the faculty grounds, ensuring the comfort and safety of participants. Thanks to this, the event provided many with an opportunity to take a break from daily challenges, connect with like-minded people, and reunite with old friends.
