On April 4, the annual charity student ball took place at Sumy National Agrarian University. This year the event was held under the theme “Venetian Night – 2026” and brought together the student community around the ideas of culture, creativity, and charity.

The Rector of the university, Ihor Kovalenko, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech:
“Dear students! I sincerely thank you for your energy, initiative, and ability to unite around important values. Despite the difficult challenges of today, you demonstrate strength of spirit, creativity, and responsibility. It is thanks to you that an inspiring atmosphere is created within the university, motivating us, the teaching staff, to work even harder for the development of Sumy National Agrarian University and the future of our country.”

The event program was rich in dance performances. Twenty-two couples took part in the ball, presenting both classical and modern compositions, including “Meeting,” the polkas, waltzes, as well as interactive dances. The exemplary modern ballroom dance ensemble “SWAY” performed thematic pieces titled “Venetian Night” and “Muse”.

In a comment, representatives of the SNAU Student Rectorate noted:
“This event shows that young people are active, aware, and ready to develop, change themselves, and support those around them. As a student self-government body, we work every day to be a support both for our military and for the younger generation that will rebuild and develop our country in the future.”

For their significant contribution to the organization of the event and the creation of its atmosphere, the Rector expressed gratitude to Daria Kravchenko, Liudmyla Varenyk, Zlata Hrushka, the exemplary modern ballroom dance ensemble “SWAY,” Yurii Serheiev, Anna Pakhomova, as well as the event partners.

As part of the ball, a charity auction of handcrafted products was held with the support of the “Kraftnytsia” store. As a result, they got more than 20,000 hryvnias. They will donate money to support children in orphanages and military personnel in the Sumy region.

Special awards — letters of appreciation from the Member of Parliament of Ukraine Mykhailo Ananchenko — were presented to the staff of Sumy National Agrarian University together with Rector Ihor Kovalenko, as well as to the SNAU Student Rectorate team headed by Andrii Kolodnenko.
