Every year in Ukraine from November 25 to December 10, the All-Ukrainian action “16 Days Against Violence” is held.
The aim of the campaign is to draw public attention to the problems of domestic violence, child abuse, countering human trafficking and protecting women’s rights.
Sumy National Agrarian University actively joined this campaign.
In this regard the psychological service of the University carried out the following activities:
25.11- a questionnaire was developed and conducted to raise awareness of the problems of violence.
- 11 – an online lecture with elements of the training “Violence. Myths and Reality”, which raised important questions about violence, its types and why it still exists, as well as watching videos from the series “Fight Like a Girl”.
01.12- the campaign “Don’t give AIDS a chance!” which was held in the academic buildings of the University and on the campus.
02.12- an online meeting with the police representatives on the topic “How not to become a victim of violence” and “Why slavery exists” was held.
03.12- the University joined the charity event “Give Warmth” for “Clinical Specialized Hospital”, which is dedicated to the International Day of people with disabilities and the International Volunteer Day, the action will last until 17.12.2021.
09.12- an online meeting with a specialist in the prevention and detection of corruption N. Pyrkha was held.
09.12-students and employees of SNAU visited the Sumy Regional Drama and Music Comedy Theatre named after M. Shchepkin and saw the play “Nelehalka” (“Illegal Immigrant”).
10.12 – on the International Human Rights Day, the SNAU psychological service together with students released a social video “Everything can be different”, which highlights the problem of violence, because everything can really be different.
The main goal of such approaches is to increase understanding and awareness of all forms of violence among people, to create a social space free from violence in a particular region or in any state.
