On December 27, a festive meeting of the Academic Council of Sumy National Agrarian University was held to consider the following agenda items:
– Report on the work of student self-government bodies during the 2024 academic year.
– Approval of the composition of the Academic Ethics Commission.
– Approval of the new version of the Regulations in the Center for Advanced Training, Retraining, and Improvement of Managers and Specialists.
– Approval of the Regulations on the Training Laboratory of Construction Materials Science and Road Construction of the Department of Architecture and Engineering Surveys of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transportation.
– Miscellaneous.
The first part of the meeting of the Academic Council began with a report by Diana DEREVIANCHENKO, Student Rector of the SNAU, on the results of the work of the university’s student government in 2024.
Next, they heard a report from Marharyta LYSHENKO, Vice-Rector for Research and Academic Affairs, and voted to approve the composition of the Academic Ethics Commission and the Regulations in the Center for Advanced Training, Retraining, and Improvement of Managers and Specialists.
The next question was addressed by Oleksandr SOLARIOV, Acting Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities, who proposed to approve the Regulations on the Training Laboratory of Construction Materials Science and Road Construction of the Department of Architecture and Engineering Surveys of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transportation.
The second, but no less important, part of the meeting was the presentation of the Sumy NAU Rector Ihor KOVALENKO’s report on the results of the university’s work in 2024. During the report, the rector emphasized the safety of the conditions for the educational and scientific process. He also presented the material and technical base of the SNAU, and, in particular, the new shelters. To ensure the safety of the educational process, a project to install solar panels was presented, which will allow the university to improve its energy independence. Ihor Mykolaiovych noted all the ranking places taken by the university during the year, the change of management, the achievements of young scientists, the movement of the applicant pool, and the results of the admission campaign. In addition, the report includes: the opening of new first-level educational programs; accreditation of educational programs of different levels; Sumy International School of HIST; double degree program in 2024; improvement of the electronic document management system; E-SNAU, portal.snau.edu.ua and their improvement; automation of accounting for the progress of students; implementation of the Digital Library project; obtaining the status of an organic plant growing operator; grant activities and projects in 2024; inclusion of the SNAU in the state register of scientific institutions that receive state support; review of publication statistics in scientometrics databases; research funding; existing specialized academic councils and dissertation defense; participation in the ERASMUS+ program; Sumy Business School and its achievements; VIVARIUM – scientific and educational Rotary Club of Beilngris-Altmuller (Germany) and a number of Ukrainian enterprises; anti-crisis measures; social and psychological work.
An award ceremony was also held during the Academic Council:
– Olena KANIVETS and Yulia SIRENKO received associate professor certificates.
– Diploma of Candidate of Technical Sciences was awarded to Oleksandr SAVOISKYI.
– Doctor of Philosophy degree was awarded to Maksym BRUNIOV.
– Rector’s awards for special achievements in 2024 were awarded to: Oleksandr SOLARIOV, Victoria VECHORKA, Tatiana MELNYK, Kyryl SYROVITSKY, Iryna TODERIUK, Yevhen KONOPLIANCHENKO, Oksana DATSKO, Oleksandr SAVOYSKY, Andriy STAVITSKY, Lyudmila VARENYK, Natalia MAZINA, Natalia ZHURBENKO, Katerina PROKOPENKO, Oleksandr BOVA, Anznhela TKACHENKO.
The Academic Council ended with the choreographic composition “SNOW WALTZ” by the pupils of the exemplary modern ballroom dance ensemble “SWAY”, a live performance of the song by the head of the vocal studio “Struna” Marina ROMANENKO, and musical greetings from the creative team of the Young Spectator Theater.
