A landmark event has taken place at Sumy National Agricultural University – the opening of the CLAAS Academy by ATS. The modern laboratory of the CLAAS Academy is an educational platform for career guidance, a center of professional communication and training for research and teaching staff and industry specialists.

According to Ihor KOVALENKO, rector of SNAU, this classroom for students is the result of many years of work by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, the university management and partners:

“This is a unique classroom for the whole country, for all agricultural institutions, both students and entrepreneurs will study here. Students of vocational colleges of our region and students of secondary schools will be able to improve their skills”.

Agrotechsoiuz LLC (ATS) was established in 1997 as a service center for the maintenance and supply of spare parts for agricultural machinery manufactured by the German company CLAAS. Today, the company is an official dealer of the world’s leading agricultural machinery manufacturers. Ivan DERHALIUK, director of ATS, emphasized the importance of creating the right conditions for training. He is convinced that investing in the development of a new generation of farmers is the best choice because as a result they get a real specialist:

“We have been cooperating with the university for a long time, and SNAU is quite active, probably one of the most active agricultural universities in Ukraine. We were in constant contact and wanted to bring such a laboratory closer to the students because they are the future professionals and managers of various companies”.

Four people per pair will be able to work in the CLASS Academy laboratory, which will allow students to master the rules of using machinery not only theoretically but also practically. Training a modern specialist in mechanical engineering for the development of the country’s agricultural sector is a crucial issue for higher education institutions.

In times of full-scale war, the professional training of future agricultural specialists is a key aspect in strengthening the country’s food security. The cooperation between SNAU and ATS is an important step in training highly qualified specialists for the development of our country’s agricultural sector!
