City tour, quests, workshop and university presentation. From September 2 to 5, freshmen were introduced to the Sumy National Agrarian University. During the first academic week, young education seekers were gradually introduced to student life, because the next four, and maybe more, years will be remembered for their entire lives, because “SNAU is WOW!”
On Monday, the “freshmen” saw a video greeting from the rector, got acquainted with the structure of the faculties, the activities of the department of educational work and student self-government. In addition, representatives of the university’s promotion office spoke to the students – demonstrated the brand book, talked about the symbol of SNAU – the gingko biloba, pointed out the rich history of the university and the opportunities available to our students.
On the next day, quests on the territory of SNAU were organized for all those willing. During the two parts of the “Green Agrarward” game, the students were introduced to the territory of the university, told interesting facts from the life of student self-government and invited to join the active youth of the university.
On Thursday, extracurricular opportunities for students were presented at the Opportunity Fair. Creativity, sports, support – all these areas are actively implemented in the lives of students. Each participant of the event had the opportunity to get acquainted with the possibilities of the university to realize their talents.
The highlight of last week is a city tour. For those seeking education, a real trip to the city’s past was prepared and conducted by Oleksandr KOVALENKO, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Tourism Department of SNAU. During the tour, they visited the Holy Resurrection and Transfiguration Cathedrals, enjoyed the monument to Ivan Kharitonenko. There were also those willing to do without an interactive feature – everyone could perform a certain ritual near the monument with a bag in order to have a lot of money in the end.
In this way, the first week gave the new students a lot of positive emotions and a charge of energy for the whole year. Now they are already familiar with student self-government, orient themselves in the university and have met other students. The time at the university is the best in everyone’s life, and the time at SNAU is even better!
