On the eve of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports, the athletes, coaches, heads of higher education institutions and other representatives of the sports industry, who glorify not only Sumy, but also the country with their achievements, were awarded in the “Romantyka” Youth Center. Sportsmen were awarded by Deputy Mayor V. MOTRECHKO, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports E. OBRAVIT, Secretary of the City Council O. REZNIK, City Council Members A. KOBZAR, M. ZELENSKY, V. SHYLOV and M. NAHORNA.
At the beginning of the holiday, the sportsmen of the city, who gave their lives in the battles for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, were remembered by name.
The Sumy National Agrarian University also received an award for promoting the development of physical culture and sports in Sumy. On behalf of the university team, the head of the department of physical education, associate professor S. KHARCHENKO got an honorary award.
For a significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports, raising the Sumy image in the sports arena, high professional skills, and on the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports O. KHARCHENKO was awarded with certificate from the Mayor.
