Traditionally, the staff of Sumy National Agrarian University begins the calendar year with a conference to summarise the results of the past year, outline achievements and determine the prospects for the institution. On 21 January 2025, 211 delegates of the staff, including representatives of the administration, employees, and students, gathered offline and online to consider five issues on the agenda:
1. Report of the Rector of the University on the activities during 2024 (Reporter: Rector of SNAU Ihor KOVALENKO)
2. Report of the chairman of the trade union organisation on the implementation of the collective agreement for 2024 (Reporter: Nataliia KOLODNENKO, chairman of the primary trade union organisation of the staff of the SNAU)
3. Report of the Chairman of the Academic Ethics Commission (Reporter: Chairman of the Academic Ethics Commission, Nataliia PETROVA)
4. Approval of amendments and additions to the Collective Agreement of SNAU for 2023-2026 (Reporter: Head of the Human Resources Department Svitlana SPASKYKH)
5. On delegating a representative of SNAU to the XXI Reporting and Election Conference of the Sumy Regional Organisation of the Trade Union of Education and Science of Ukraine
The conference began with a discussion of the changes made to the delegates, followed by consideration of the agenda.
The Rector, Ihor KOVALENKO, presented a report on the activities of Sumy National Agrarian University in 2024 and expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the development of the university,
In addition, the Rector’s report covered the topics of graduates of the double degree program of SNAU and RAU, the contingent of Ukrainian and foreign students, the results of the admission campaign, digitalization, international grants and projects, and the results of the economic activities of the higher education institution in 2024.
During the discussion of the Rector’s speech, the audience listened to:
– Olga ROHOVENKO, Director of the Sumy Vocational College of NAU;
– Oleksandr IVCHENKO, PhD in Engineering, Head of the Department of Technical Systems Design;
– Hanna RUD, a keeper of the beekeeping laboratory;
– heads of the student self-government of SNAU (student rector Diana DEREVIANCHENKO, as well as student deans of the faculties: Daria IVASHCHUK, Victoria ROSTOKA, Karina ZAIKA, Milana LYSENKO, Alyona POPOVA, Andrii MAKARENKO and Daniil PETRUSENKO);
Mykola KURYLO, Adviser to the Rector on Legal Issues, proposed that the work of the Rector and Sumy NAU in 2024 should be recognised not just as satisfactory, but as ‘Satisfactory +’.
The next speaker was Nataliia KOLODNENKO, chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organisation of Sumy NAU, who reported on the results of the work of the university administration and the Trade Union Organisation.
Next, the report of the Chairman of the Academic Ethics Commission, Nataliia PETROVA, was heard, who noted that the Commission’s activities in 2024 were carried out in accordance with the relevant documents and regulations, and thanked Mykhailo PYRKHA, Viktoriia MAKAROVA and Svitlana YAROSHCHUK for their assistance in the Commission’s activities.
The proposal to approve the amendments and additions to the collective agreement was made by Svitlana SPASKYKH, Head of the HR Department.
The next speaker was Kateryna PROKOPENKO, who reported that, according to the decision of the Presidium of the Regional Committee of the Sumy Regional Organisation of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine, it was necessary to delegate one person from SNAU to the XXI Reporting and Election Conference of the Sumy Regional Organisation of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine. Mykola MYKHAILICHENKO responded by proposing the candidacy of Natalia KOLODENKO as a delegate, which was voted on in the course of the voting.
Following consideration of all the issues on the agenda, the relevant decisions were made.
