On 1 September 2024, a new educational and professional programme “Pharmacy” in the speciality 226 Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy will be launched at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Sumy National Agrarian University. The educational and professional programme will be implemented at the second (master’s) level of full-time higher education (5 years of study). The enrolment of applicants will begin in July 2024.
The relevant decision was made in accordance with Annex 6.4. to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 394-l dated 7 June 2024. In addition, at our request, the Ministry established a licensed volume of 30 people per year, which will satisfy the annual demand for Master’s degree specialists in this speciality in Sumy, Poltava, and Chernihiv regions.
Acting Rector of Sumy National Agrarian University, Academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr LADYKA comments on his official Facebook page that the impetus for the programme was the long-term cooperation with leading pharmaceutical manufacturers. In particular, the university received strong support from ‘Brovapharma’, which is the flagship of pharmacy in the country, has export potential and will enable future graduates to work abroad.
‘Brovapharma’, is a company with which the students have established close working relations for many years financed the opening of a space office and a unique laboratory for the development and conduct of preclinical studies of medical and veterinary medicines at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, which became the first example of creating a material and technical base for the newly launched educational and professional programme.
The pharmaceutical base for the educational process was KUSUM PHARM, which carries out industrial production of medicines in Sumy and provided visual material for the acquisition of practical skills and will become a practice base and a place of future employment in the future.
The administration of Sumy NAU and the staff of the Veterinary Faculty are convinced that the existing material and technical and practical base, as well as the teaching of disciplines to students by doctors, professors and candidates of medical and pharmaceutical sciences with practical experience, will ensure high quality training of specialists in the educational and professional programme “Pharmacy”.
Graduates will be able to work in pharmaceutical plants and factories, medical and healthcare facilities, pharmacy chains (pharmacist) and wholesale chemical and pharmaceutical companies of domestic and foreign production, laboratories for the control of medical and veterinary drugs, forensic chemical and toxicological laboratories, scientific institutions, clinical trials companies, regulatory authorities and higher education institutions.
Full-time education meets all the standards and programmes of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and is available at the expense of individuals and legal entities.
