On September 27, an educational and methodical seminar on “Effective methods and practical tips for preparation for the international language exam Pearson Test of English” and “Ways of effective use of authentic modern English text book “Speakout” to implement the communicative method” was held at the Department of Foreign Languages.
Leading methodologists of the International Educational and Methodical Center Dinternal Education conducted the seminar. The seminar was attended by Valerii Zhmailov, Professor, Vice-rector for Scientific, Pedagogical and Educational work of SNAU, teachers of the department of foreign languages and colleges of SNAU, as well as teachers of schools of Sumy and Sumy region.
In 2018, the SNAU Foreign Languages Department has been licensed to conduct international Pearson English exam. The university teachers have an opportunity to confirm their B2 level of English proficiency.
Pearson is one of the largest educational companies specializing in educational literature. Its offices are in 75 countries. The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is the most popular test among teachers and students. The results of this test have been officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Company representatives gave information about the exam structure. They also gave tips how to pass the test successfully. Participants of the seminar were able to try to complete individual tasks from PTE modules during the meeting.
