Fifteen graduate students from the People’s Republic of China received their Doctor of Philosophy degrees based on their studies at Sumy National Agrarian University (SNAU). Rector Volodymyr LADYKA presented the documents that would confirm the scientific level in a calm atmosphere at the hour of his official visit to the Henan Institute of Science and Technology (HIST).
In 2017, Sumy National Agrarian University signed an agreement on the training of scientific personnel in graduate school for HIST. According to the agreement, young teachers who did not have a scientific degree studied for four years at the postgraduate school of SNAU under accredited English-language educational programs of the third level: Management, Agronomy, Plant Protection, Food Technologies, Industrial Mechanical Engineering and Veterinary Medicine. The beginning of the war prevented graduate students from defending their theses on time: in early March 2023, they were evacuated from the city of Sumy. However, during 2023, almost all entrants successfully defended their theses. According to the current legislation, defenses were held in English with the involvement of leading scientists of Ukraine and abroad.
Speaking before the audience, the president of the Henan Institute of Science and Technology, Kang Yunchao, highly appreciated the contribution of the SNAU to the development of the institute’s human resources. According to him, all new doctors of philosophy will be offered appropriate positions in the educational institution.
During the visit to the partner higher education institution, the rector of Sumy National Agrarian University and the president of the Henan Institute of Science and Technology signed the document on the extension of the agreement on the training of graduate students for another five years.
