The Department of Geodesy and Land Management of Sumy National Agrarian University held a thematic week dedicated to the Day of the Land Surveyor, which combined a number of educational, scientific, informational and entertainment events.
The week’s program was opened with a guest speech by Professor A. Tretiak, who shared his own experience and detailed the aspects of the need to adopt a new law “On Land Management”. During the meeting, students actively asked questions about the execution of land lease agreements outside settlements and the peculiarities of law enforcement in the field of land management.
The intellectual game “Quiz” was one of the highlights of the week, where three teams – SBC, Sumy
Landowners and Levelers – demonstrated deep knowledge, logical thinking and teamwork skills. The
winners of the competition were the members of the Nivelirchyky team.
An interesting and practically oriented event was a geodetic quest that united students into two teams – “Geoids” and “Ellipsoids”. As a result of the competition, the Ellipsoids team won. During the outreach event “From the Book to the Border”, students visited the SNAU library, where they got acquainted with the latest professional literature and a collection of works of fiction related to land management.
The final stage of the week was the creative contest “Profession in Frame”. The 2nd year students majoring in Geodesy and Land Management prepared a video project in the genre of court drama, which demonstrated the practical aspects of the land surveyor’s work. The production vividly revealed the legal conflict between the plaintiff and the land surveyor, accompanied by elements of humour, intrigue and professional skill.
The week dedicated to the Day of the Land Surveyor was an important step in improving the professional training of students, developing their creativity and strengthening teamwork. The staff of the Department of Geodesy and Land Management expresses its sincere gratitude to all participants and organizers of the events for their active participation and high level of training.
