As part of a working visit to Germany, representatives of Sumy National Agrarian University visited the Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, higher education institutions along the border have faced numerous challenges: a large number of air raids, power outages and constant danger. At such a time, the support of international partners was particularly significant and the fruitful cooperation between SNAU and HSWT has become an example for others.
Over the course of our long-standing friendly relations, our staff and students have been able to take advantage of opportunities for international experience, professional growth and cultural exchange. Through joint efforts, we have created academic mobility programmes, organised professional internships, and implemented joint educational initiatives that have changed the lives of many young people.
To recognise the partners, the Rector of Sumy NAU, Ihor KOVALENKO, presented Christian Schu with the title of Honorary Professor of Sumy National Agrarian University. In addition, Professor Ralf Schlauderer was awarded the Sumy NAU Certificate of Appreciation for his long-term cooperation, comprehensive support of lectures and students, and the development of long-term friendly relations.
In addition, the SNAU team had a unique opportunity to visit EuroTier, the leading international livestock exhibition held in Hanover. The exhibition brought together the best representatives of the industry, demonstrating innovative solutions, modern equipment and the latest technologies for the livestock development.
Rector Ihor KOVALENKO says:
‘We gained valuable experience by communicating with colleagues from all over the world, learning about the latest trends and technologies that allow us to increase production efficiency, ensure animal welfare and preserve environmental balance. It was a great chance to get inspired for future initiatives and implement best practices in the educational process of our university.’
Also, our delegation is returning from Germany with good news. A new vivarium is coming! SNAU opens new horizons in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine!
