For several months already Sumy National Agrarian University has been trying to resolve the situation and provide heat to nearby houses, students’ hostels and the regional orphanage. As it is a budget organization, there is a preferential price for gas. But it cannot be used to provide services to the public. Until November 30, the university did not determine the gas supplier due to the uncertainty of the status of the university. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal had to intervene in the case personally.

However, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers limits the time of receiving gas to 30 days, and the term expired on December 1, 2021, so in the morning Sumyoblgaz cut off the gas supply.

Thanks to the prompt reaction of the head of the Sumy Regional State Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, the gas supply was restored.
