The University of Dubrovnik (Croatia) has once again hosted international partners of the Erasmus+ AFISHE project. Sumy National Agrarian University is among the institutions implementing the initiative.
During the period of cooperation with educational institutions in Armenia, Portugal, Slovakia, and Croatia under the AFISHE project, teachers and researchers of Sumy NAU have repeatedly gained experience through international internships. In particular, in the winter of 2024, two delegations visited Portugal and Croatia (see the link: https://snau.edu.ua/stazhuvannya-vikladachiv-u-ramkax-proyektu-erasmus-afishe-u-xorvatiї/, https://snau.edu.ua/navchannya-vikladachiv-za-programoyu-erasmus-afishe-v-portugaliї/).
The third project meeting was an intermediate stage of cooperation and aimed to outline existing achievements and future plans for the initiative. This time, the delegation from Sumy National Agrarian University consisted of Larysa KALACHEVSKA, Head of the International Relations Department, Viktoriia VECHORKA, Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Technology, and Oleksandr MYKHALKO, Associate Professor of the Department of Fodder technology and Animal Breeding.
The meeting summarized the interim work of all consortium members from the beginning of the project to date on each of the work packages on internships, quality of implementation, dissemination, and communication in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Erasmus+ AFISHE initiative.
It is worth noting that the main goal of the project is to implement a unique master’s program in aquaculture and fisheries at partner institutions. Sumy NAU already had achievements to share. For example, the Faculty of Biology and Technology is setting up an innovative laboratory in this field in accordance with EU standards. In addition, teachers are improving their skills and learning new information on aquaculture. Today, Sumy NAU boasts a strong, highly qualified team of employees. During the recent visit, the prospects for training and education of laboratory technicians and teachers on student-cantered learning, taking into account the concept of environmental protection and sustainable development were discussed.
